See Eunny Knit!

I got my IK the other day in the mail and it was just jammed packed with great stuff. The patterns were ones that I would see myself making. The pictures were great and so were the articles....Until I saw the tutorial on steeking by Eunny.

I've done my fair share of steeking and find it fun and exhilarating! Just the idea of cutting open what you just spent countless hours knitting is a rush indeed. As I'm reading the article, it was just a refresher course until I got to the next page and she mentions sleeves and steeking!

Who would have thunk? Honestly? It sure as hell wasn't me but hot damn! I just have all of these new ideas in my head for this. And why not? It would make the sleeves go sooooo much faster AND you can knit a set in sleeve in the round and still have a great looking sweater. This clearly warrents investigation. I'm excited about it and really look forward to pursuing it!

As you may see, I have a Christmas Knitting Deadline ticker at the top of the page. Well that is when MY Christmas knitting needs to be completed so I can get it all in the mail. SO far I have my sister, neice, and mother-in-law completed.

Now for the dilema. I'm seriously considering selling a pattern. Its the hat that I designed for my sister for Christmas. I have the pattern written and all charted out. The quarks are all squared away. I just have to take a picture. Now for the tough part and I need your help with. Should I submit it to the pattern companies OR just offer it as a free pattern here on the site? The choice is yours as I'm incapable of making this decision on my own!

The First Time, Ever I Saw Your Face...

Every time I hear that song sung by Celine Deon on her Miracles album, I think of you. Dad says that they showed you to me right after you were born, however I don't remember that. I do remember them placing you right next to me by my head on the bed as we were wheeled from the operating room to the recovery room. You just looked at me with your big blue eyes and dimpled cheeks and rosy lips. I could just look at you forever.


That was two years ago today. Its hard to believe that you have been in my life for two wonderful years. Its seems like forever. I'm looking forward to the rest of our lives! I love you baby, Happy Birthday!

Mission Accomplished

This is Christine.



Christine has been working on this mitten for quite some time now. This mitten has been started, re-started, frogged and then re-started again about 5 times. There actually came a point when she was tempted to buy a mitten. I told her she worked too hard to just buy one. Sweat and tears went into this mitten. She has learned how to knit in the round on 2 circs during this process, add a thumb, and increase and decrease stitches. I'm extactic for her!



The look on her excited face telling me she finished? Priceless.

Trick-or-Treating

We went trick-or-treating last night and had a great time! I just love watching her do fun stuff.


At first she didn't get the hang of it. At the first house she tried to give the candy back!

After a couple of houses, she knew if she put her bucket out here, she got candy. Its all about the candy! We went to one house that had the light on and they didn't answer the door. Did she ever get mad cuz she didn't get the candy. Luckily Bob, our neighbor, made up for it. He let her just grab what she wanted.


We had a great time and Halloween is starting to become my second favorite holiday. Christmas being the first!












See these? These were found at JoAnns one day and I thought they would be great on my Kiri.

I got them and decided to add them to the edging. I really like that they are not all the same color and that they all magically match. I love it when a plan comes together.

Bri asked if this was for me. She was hoping that I would wear this with a slinky black dress. The answer is no. No this is a Christmas gift for my MIL. I'm hoping that she likes it. All of the ladies at Knit Night are in agreement that she will adore it.
